Family Coaching

Supporting caregivers to strengthen connection, communication, and the overall wellbeing of the family system.

Family Coaching

Family Coaching is a structured, goal-oriented support service designed to help families navigate specific challenges, improve communication, and build sustainable strategies for functioning together as a unit. Family coaching services can support family members who are navigating residential or outpatient mental health systems, supporting a loved one in establishing and maintaining meaningful community activities, or identifying next steps toward greater independence while managing mental health challenges. This service is well-suited for families seeking practical guidance, advocacy support, skill-building, and accountability around identified goals — without a formal clinical or diagnostic treatment framework.

This service is designed for parents, caregivers, and others who provide primary support to a family member receiving mental health care. Family Coaching sessions are generally provided in-person or via telehealth on a weekly basis. Other frequency may be offered based on need. Family coaching services are offered at $145 per hour. Additional sessions may be scheduled during periods of increased clinical need or transition for an additional hourly fee.

What is the difference between Family Coaching and Family Therapy?

Family Coaching is not family therapy. The focus is on education, coaching, and skill development rather than treating family dynamics or individual family members. While both services support families in improving their relationships and functioning, they differ in scope, approach, and intended outcomes. Family Coaching is not a substitute for family therapy. Families presenting with significant mental health concerns, trauma, or complex relational dysfunction will be referred family therapy to as clinically appropriate. Typical expectations for family coaching clients include engaging in weekly sessions.
