SxS is a not-for-profit, family-supported organization licensed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health that empowers individuals to find their own paths to independence while dealing with the complications of life with mental illness.

Our passionate, caring, and experienced professionals value the importance of family involvement in the recovery process and go to great lengths to foster a safe, supportive environment. Our unique model offers a broad-range of personalized services to individuals living in the community or residing independently in our dedicated apartments.
The Association of Community Integration Programs treat clients often diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness while they live with various degrees of independence in the community. Clients receive robust, coordinated psychiatric and psychosocial services while participating in the real world, building social ties and moving purposefully toward a future – proven ingredients of psychiatric recovery”

Our
Values

To help adults with psychiatric, cognitive and social disabilities lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.

We understand the challenges that arise when life becomes complicated by a behavioral health issue or other life stressors. We strive to empower our clients to tap into their unique strengths while simultaneously building upon their needs as they work towards creating fulfilling, independent lives.

Our Values
Choice
Every individual should have a voice in creating their own home environment, work life, and educational/therapeutic program
Rights
Every individual should be provided the rights, dignity, and responsibilities afforded to all citizens—regardless of their differences.
Consistency
Consistency in treatment, daily routines, and staff relationships are essential in providing a sense of security and allowing for growth and change
Wellness
Healthy eating and exercise are key components of having a healthy body and mind
Family
Families are critical components of any successful support team. We not only welcome but encourage their involvement.

Case
Management

We begin with an Individual Support Plan (ISP), developed in collaboration with and tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals. Our clinical case managers work closely with each individual’s family and outpatient team to provide comprehensive and holistic care. Community integration is often a focal point in case management as we encourage each individual to cultivate social networks within the larger community to work towards their goals.

We offer a broad range of personalized services

Events

Cultivating community is integral to SxS. Community events include weekly Saturday activities, overnight trips, picnics, barbeques, town halls, holiday gatherings, open mic nights and more.

M.E.A.L.S. Program

The M.E.A.L.S. program is one of the most important components of the SxS model, providing opportunities for enhancing both individual life skills and interpersonal skills.

When my son was still living at home and had difficulty simply getting out of bed or getting to appointments, his SxS counselors gladly offerred to come to our house to help him with these basic functional tasks. We have never come across such flexible, caring, and understanding counselors.
