SxS is a not-for-profit, family-supported organization licensed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health that empowers individuals to find their own paths to independence while dealing with the complications of life with mental illness.
To help adults with psychiatric, cognitive and social disabilities lead meaningful and fulfilling lives.
We understand the challenges that arise when life becomes complicated by a behavioral health issue or other life stressors. We strive to empower our clients to tap into their unique strengths while simultaneously building upon their needs as they work towards creating fulfilling, independent lives.
We begin with an Individual Support Plan (ISP), developed in collaboration with and tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs and goals. Our clinical case managers work closely with each individual’s family and outpatient team to provide comprehensive and holistic care. Community integration is often a focal point in case management as we encourage each individual to cultivate social networks within the larger community to work towards their goals.
Cultivating community is integral to SxS. Community events include weekly Saturday activities, overnight trips, picnics, barbeques, town halls, holiday gatherings, open mic nights and more.
The M.E.A.L.S. program is one of the most important components of the SxS model, providing opportunities for enhancing both individual life skills and interpersonal skills.
